To support our customers through the design and development of new processes and products utilizing our core competencies in the area of microporous membranes, as well as the support of Daramic materials in their applications.
The Daramic Technical Center (DTC), located at the Owensboro, Kentucky, USA, has a dedicated staff of research and development scientists and engineers. DTC has extensive capabilities for product and process development and technical support. DTC has the capability to manufacture microporous membranes, test material for physical and chemical properties, and functionally test material.
Fully operational pilot facility (extrusion, extraction and finishing).
- Ability to produce various modifications of microporous membranes.
- Produce materials utilizing new and different manufacturing techniques,
- Evaluating new raw materials
- Develop and experiment with new profile designs.
Fully-functional battery test laboratory.
- Charge-discharge cycling units
- High-rate discharge unit
- Temperature-controlled baths.
- Capability to hand manufacture batteries.
- Conduct battery teardowns and to determine cause of failure.
Complete analytical facilities to test material for a wide variety of physical, chemical and electrochemical properties of microporous materials.
- Inductively-coupled plasma spectroscopy (ICP)
- Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy
- Cyclic voltammetry
- Mercury porosimetry.
The European Technical Center (ETC), located at the Selestat, France facility, and Asian Technical Center (ATC), located at the Prachinburi, Thailand facility, are smaller in scope than the DTC.
These facilities are dedicated to customer technical support, and have a staff focused on supporting the customers. Capabilities in these laboratories include analytical and limited battery testing facilities.
